Go Where You Are Looking

“Don’t look where you are  going, go where you are looking.”

This helpful insight is what I learned while listening to an audiobook about getting out of your own way.

I was at the gym spending an hour on the treadmill when I heard this and it resonated so deeply.

So, here’s what the message was conveying: Taking action is about optimism and chasing your unrealized dreams and what you can do to get back on track. The best way to grow is to reach beyond your grasp. In the end, we regret not what we have done, but what we have not done.

Wanna change the direction of your life? Close your eyes, get in touch with your inner vision and go in the direction where it leads you. To look where you are going is to be motivated by fear, to go where you are looking is to be motivated by desire, confidence and vision. The inclination to play it safe could be linked to childhood. As parents of children, we might have heard things like “don’t do that or you’ll get hurt!” or “you’ll be sorry!” At the attempt to do something risky, instead, think of how much of a difference it would have made to hear them say “Get back up and try again.” Start tasting more of life and take action. Are you being true to your dreams or are you being practical? Turn fears into opportunities.

Complete this sentence: “If I could change my life right now, I would_____”
